THE CATTERY

Originally founded in 1988 as a 12 chalet cattery capable of taking 26 cats, Breighton Cats Lodge has been developed from those early beginnings into one of the most outstanding catteries in the country and is now licensed to take up to 80 cats. Large enough to cope with the demand, small enough to be responsibly cared for personally by the owners.

Although the cattery is in a beautiful and tranquil setting, the most important element of the cattery is a lifetimes experience and understanding of caring for cats to enable us to treat them all as individuals with different needs.

This cattery is very definitely for CATS ONLY with no dogs allowed on the premises out of cars.

We also let our clients introduce their cats to the chalet and sleeping quarters and they can make them cosy and settled before leaving them with total peace of mind.

In the recent past the cattery achieved the prestigious award of Feline Advisory Bureau (FAB) Overall Winner "Cattery of the Year".

We are confident of the standards of cleanliness, hygiene and the exceedingly relaxed contentedness of all of our guests, that viewing the cattery is not subject to phone calls or appointments.

Our cattery enjoys an unrivalled reputation for providing the ultimate in quality cat care and personal attention at all times, in a safe, stress-free countryside location.  We offer a stimulating environment for your cat to stay in whilst away from home. Our reputation is such that we now have regular customers travelling from as far afield as Preston (Lancashire), Derby, Newcastle, Huddersfield, Bradford, Leeds, Doncaster, Hull, York, Thirsk, Harrogate, Knaresborough, as well as surrounding towns and villages. RECENT ADDITION POND VIEW Our Swiss Style  Detached Full Height Chalet It comes with security corridor, heated  and with full insulation, suitable for housing up to 5 adult cats with ease and overlooking the three tier pond and fountain, situated adjacent to the house, standing alone from the other chalets. It has a South Westerly outlook capturing the sun through most of the day and is sheltered from the North Easterly Winds The chalet has windows to two aspects giving an excellent outlook for cat entertainment, watching birds bathing in the channels between the ponds, etc. In addition to all the usual facilities the cat run is tiled with glazed porcelain tiles and finished with washable rugs to give that home from home appeal. It also has individually removable weather panels for the UK's variable climate!!

The tranquil setting is illustrated below by its position on the edge of the select village of Breighton and bordered by surrounding fields and the river.	The main cattery is designed with 2' gaps between chalets, ensuring plenty of fresh air to minimise any risk of infection.  It also features purpose built removable weather screens for maximum protection in winter, together with a specially tinted polycarbonate roof offering coolness in the summer. Pretty coordinated shelf beds and new scratching posts.
	Full Height individual chalets and covered outdoor runs all with a dual aspect overlooking fields and our tranquil garden COMPLY FULLY WITH THE ANIMAL BOARDING ESTABLISHMENTS ACT.
	All our chalets are fully individually heated and temperature controlled with individual infra-red heaters, effectively warming your cat, their bed and the air in the chalet.
	Our chalets are craftsman built, are fully insulated and weatherproofed and comply with the latest guidelines.

ADDITIONAL ACCOMODATION

We also have 3 internal chalets of varying size where we can provide care for Indoor Cats, Senior, Ailing or cats easily intimidated by others.

Very special consideration and understanding is given to very nervous cats who are upset by the presence of either humans or other cats

These chalets with the additional heating are always in great demand in the Winter months
